Get to choose from a selection of focaccia, delicacies, wine and freshly brewed coffee from our Italian coffee bar. ‘Tafel 18 is het ontroerende maar ook vermakelijke relaas van de geschiedenis van een Italiaans restaurant in Amsterdam. Tergelijkertijd bevat het de memoires van een leven, dat van Nicoletta Gezzi, al 46 jaar eigenares van het restaurant. In een vijftigtal korte hoofdstukken verhaalt Nicoletta Gezzi over haar jeugd in Italië, haar ervaringen als een Italiaanse vrouw in een nieuw land, het wel en wee van haar gezin en het restaurant dat meer is dan alleen een werkplek. Het is het toneel vanwaar ze het leven – het hare en dat van anderen – in de loop der jaren gadeslaat.’
